She tells him that she is fully aware of his infidelity, but she chooses to ignore it "because you are my life". It appears from the lyrics that this has been a common situation in their relationship.The song was performed second on the night, following Luxembourg's Hugues Aufray with "Dès que le printemps revient" and preceding Norway's Arne Bendiksen with "Spiral". At the close of voting, it had received 2 points, placing 10th in a field of 16.It was succeeded as Dutch representative at the 1965 Contest by Conny Vandenbos with "'t Is genoeg".Anneke Grönloh was the first artist in the ESC who was not born in Europe.
