He represented King's County in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1886 to 1903 as a Liberal-Conservative.He was born in Sussex, New Brunswick, the son of J.E. White, formerly a merchant at Saint John. He was educated at Mount Allison College and Harvard University, receiving a LL.B. from the latter. He married Ida Vaughan. White served as speaker for the provincial assembly from 1890 to 1892. In 1892, he was named Solicitor General. He was appointed as Attorney General in October 1897 and served until January 1900.
