Agar's good form continued over the following decade and he played in the Hull Kingston Rovers team that beat Hull in the Challenge Cup final in 1980. Agar coached Featherstone Rovers to one of the biggest upsets in Wembley history that year, when they defeated Hull in the 1983 Challenge Cup final.
