Matches in DBpedia 2014 for { ?s ?p Andrew Whyte Barclay M.D. (1817–1884), was a Scottish physician.Barclay was born at Dysart, Fife, and educated at the High School of Edinburgh. He studied medicine at Edinburgh University, and after visiting Berlin and Paris took the M.D. degree in 1839. He afterwards entered at Caius College, Cambridge, graduating M.B. in 1847 and M.D. in 1852. He was elected assistant physician to St George's Hospital in 1857, and devoted much attention to the interests of the medical school, lecturing on medicine, and serving as physician from 1862 to 1882. At the College of Physicians he was examiner in medicine, councillor, censor, Lumleian lecturer, and Harveian orator (for 1881), being elected treasurer in 1884. He was president of the Royal Medical and Chirurgical Society for the year 1881, and contributed to the transactions of that society two papers on heart disease. He was shrewd and cautious as a physician, concise and polished as a writer.. }
