The stadium is part of a larger athletic complex that has an indoor arena that can host basketball and netball matches, a swimming venue, and a field hockey area. It is the largest athletic complex of its kind in Western Australia.Arena Joondalup was awarded 'Facility Management Award' at the biannual Sport and Recreation Industry Awards in November 2001.Since 1999 Arena Joondalup has been host to the Rock-It musical festival, which is one of the major rock concerts held regularly in Perth, with attendances of up to 25,000 people.. }
