Puliafito led the clinical business planning which culminated in the successful acquisition by USC in April 2009 of its two private teaching hospitals, USC University Hospital and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, both of which had been previously owned and operated by a publicly traded, for-profit hospital corporation.
