In this work, Chico Buarque also criticizes the way of life of the Brazilian workers, comparing them to machines in two songs: "Cotidiano" and "Construção". The album features "Olha Maria", a bittersweet song of stunning beauty also recorded and performed by its cowriter Antonio Carlos Jobim as well as Lee Ritenour, Zimbo Trio and more. Construção ranks Number 3 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 greatest Brazilian albums of all time. The magazine also voted its title-track as the greatest Brazilian song, stating the it "is still a reference to understand a spiny period of Brazilian society". It also ranks Number 54 in the list of the 100 greatest records of the 20th century by German music magazine Spex.. }
