From 1991 to 1994, Dag Herbjørnsrud studied political science at the University of Oslo. He graduated as cand. philol. in 2002 with an English-language thesis on the later philosophy of Robert Nozick titled Leaving Libertarianism: Social Ties in Robert Nozick's New Philosophy. In the thesis, Herbjørnsrud argued that Nozick left libertarianism in his later years.
