From 2001 through 2004, Myers was the third-base coach of the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball.As an active player, Myers stood 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m), weighed 190 pounds (86 kg), and threw and batted right-handed. He graduated from William Penn High School in York, Pennsylvania where he was a two-sport stand-out in Baseball and Basketball.Myers chose Temple University to further his career. He played for legendary Temple coach Skip Wilson. Teammates included Temple legend Doug Kepple and former professionals H.J. Lopes, Billy Mendek and Pete Filson. While at Temple Myers accumulated some impressive accomplishments - including team Most Valuable Player his Red-Shirt junior year. After that 1981 junior year he was selected by the Mariners in the 13th round (312th overall) in the Major League Baseball draft and played eight seasons of minor league baseball in the Seattle system, including four years at the Double-A level.Myers then managed Mariners' farm clubs for 12 seasons, 1989–2000, the last six as skipper of the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League, before joining the Major League staff of Lou Piniella for the 2001 season. In his first campaign as the M's third-base coach, Seattle won an American League-record 116 games.He became a coach in the Cleveland Indians' organization after leaving the Mariners and spent 2010–2013 as a coach for the Durham Bulls, Triple-A International League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.As a minor leaguer, Myers batted .272 during his eight-year active career; as a manager, he compiled a 731-654 (.528) record.. }
