It is located in the village of Ervika at the northern end of the Stadlandet peninsula. The church is part of the Ervik parish in the Nordfjord deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The church is the location to a memorial to those killed during the sinking of the SS Sanct Svithun during World War II.The white, brick church was built in 1970 at the historic location of the Ervik graveyard which has been in existence since before 1550.
