Eisenhower to a seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit vacated by Homer Truett Bone. Hamley was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 29, 1956, and received his commission on July 2, 1956. He assumed senior status on July 6, 1971, serving in that capacity until his death.. }
