Talbot is one of the more memorable Pilots in Jim Bouton's book Ball Four. Bouton had a somewhat antagonistic relationship with Talbot dating back to their days as Yankee teammates, but Talbot's near-constant stream of funny stories and put-downs leads Bouton to admit, "Talbot is in rare form these days."
