She has been barred by the British Advertising Standards Authority from using the title Doctor in advertisements on the grounds that to continue to do so would be misleading.Her advice has attracted criticism and praise. You Are What You Eat has sold over two million copies, and in 2005 she was awarded a Consumer Education Award by the Soil Association.
