In June 2006, Griffiths-Scott Middle School was given national accreditation as a UNESCO school. It has received national recognition and has the honor of flying the United Nations flag. As well, there is a co-ed wrestling group, and track and field and cross country running participation. The school competes in the Leduc and District Athletics Association.Griffiths-Scott also has a growing arts program in music, and art. It was announced, in December 2005, that a new school will be constructed to replace the existing school in another location.
