He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1932 to the Seventy-third Congress. He served as member and chairman of the State Corporation Commission of Kansas 1933-1939.Hoch was elected a member of the Kansas Supreme Court in 1938. He was reelected in 1944 and served until his death in Topeka, January 30, 1949. He was interred in Highland Cemetery, Marion, Kansas.. }
