He batted once in this match, scoring a single run in Kent's first-innings, before being dismissed by Schofield Haigh, with the match ending in a draw. He later played for Berkshire in the Minor Counties Championship, making a single appearance in 1905 against Monmouthshire.Outside of cricket Mason worked as a solicitor, prior to 1912 he had been in partnership with a William Weed, however the partnership was dissolved in July 1912. This firm though continued under a different structure. He died at Wallington, Surrey on 8 February 1938. His brother, Jack, played Test cricket for England and captained Kent.
