In early 2006 Jody was named the Grand Prize winner of the national contest, hand picked and announced personally by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. He went on to open a sold out show at Giants Stadium in Bon Jovi’s home state, New Jersey, alongside fellow Canadians Nickelback. As the national winner he was also featured on XM Satellite Radio’s Billy Zero Unsigned Artists show.[citation needed]Raffoul has recorded a new album, Big Sky, produced by himself,[citation needed] mixed by Al Sutton and mastered by Greg Calbi. Big Sky was nominated for Independent Record of the Year by the Detroit Music Awards. Raffoul is also the subject of the movie Grabtime, directed by Robin Davey of The Bastard Fairies.[citation needed] Raffoul and his band were invited to play Canadian Music Week 2009 in Toronto and recently[citation needed], Raffoul teamed with St. Clair College Centre for the Arts to distribute a compilation CD of Raffoul's songs titled Home in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
