Northern Ireland Railways (NIR) closed the station on March 25, 2005.[citation needed]Knockmore station had two platforms. One platform was served by "down" trains only on the service from Belfast Central via Lisburn to Portadown, while the other platform was served by trains in both directions on the Belfast – Lisburn – Antrim – Derry service.
