At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 6928 living in 1245 individual households but the population has increased greatly since then.Lele is 16 km (1.50 hours) bus ride from Lagankhel, Patan (main city of Lalitpur). While traveling by bike it takes about 30 minutes from Lagankhel. Lele is a small valley inside Kathmandu Valley. The beautiful landscape of Lele has a river across it which is the main source for irrigation for the farmland. Lele hosts the Lele PIA Memorial Park which was constructed for the memory of the people who lost their lives on the Pakistan International Airlines's plane crash at Bhatte Danda.
