This travelling festival began at a much smaller scale with simply a rented tent on a Philadelphia street. The event is in line with the overall concept of the label showcasing global pop and dance music. With the growth of electronic music's popularity in the United States, Mad Decent Block Party has now expanded to 22 dates in 2014, up from 13 in 2013 and 8 in 2012.
