They are one of a number of small clans of Muslim agriculturists scattered over the Pothohar plateau region, who claim to be Rajput. According to some traditions, the Mial are Qureshi Arabs. Their customs are similar to other tribes of similar status such as the Khingar and Bhakral. There main villages include Mial in the Fateh Jang Tehsil as well Mial in the Talagang Tehsil of Chakwal District, the village of Mial in Rawalpindi District, and the village of Mial in Chakwal District, situated near the town of Choa Saidanshah.
