Patoka Township is the location of the county seat of Princeton and the center of Gibson County's population with over 10,000 residents. Patoka and Union townships have experienced explosive growth in the manufacturing area due mainly to the arrival of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana in 1996. Princeton got into the business expansions, landing many retailers in 2007, including the first Menard's Store in Southwestern Indiana. The second was started on Evansville's East Side nearly a year later.
