Despite the series' relatively short life span, it received a large amount of fan support. Both prior and after its cancellation, fans created online petitions to save the show. Ringer averaged 1.49 million viewers per episode and ranked 181th in viewership for the 2011–12 television season. During its run, Ringer received mixed reviews from critics.
