Garrett had joined the Brand New Heavies in 1996, but left in early 1998 to concentrate on her own songwriting. As part of the band, she enjoyed a minor hit with a cover of the Carole King-penned song "You've Got a Friend" that was originally made famous by James Taylor. It was the group's only top 10 hit single in the UK, reaching number 9 when released as the third single from the album. Again, though, this song did not appear on the US version of the album. The album also contained the hit "Sometimes", which peaked at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart when released in 1997. One of the remixes of "Sometimes" featured the rap vocals of Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest. "You Are The Universe" and "Shelter" were the other singles from the album, and reached positions of #21 and #31 in the UK Singles Chart.. }
