His son, Adam Giles,was born 21 March 1595 in Newton Toney, Wiltshire, England. Mary Drew-Northcote married a Mr.Northcote before being married to Edward Giles. Her maiden name was Drew. Edward's father, John Giles, also held office as a Member of Parliament for Totnes, and Edward's great-grandfather, also a John Giles, did as well. His Great-Grandfather was also the richest merchant in Devon in his time, leasing the many properties he owned in and around Totnes, Dean-Prior, Bowden,and Ashprington.
