Strong got his musical start in punk rock in the 90s, where he was frontman of the underground Santa Cruz based pop-punk band Reliance. He has performed onstage with Blink 182, No Use For A Name, Good Riddance, Lagwagon and Ten Foot pole among others. The son of a commercial fisherman, his songwriting is known for its anthemic themes of the Pacific Coast coupled with powerful and emotional storytelling resembling his namesake.Strong collaborated with Lyle Workman, Sean Beavan, Davey Faragher, Tim Narducci and Chris Manning on his latest "Taker Her Down" EP. The lead single "Jumpstart The Heart" was chosen as #1 in "Rick's Picks 2012" on Chicago's renowned "The Best Radio You Have Never Heard" podcast, which also included songs from Smashing Pumpkins, Regina Spektor, Arcade Fire and Rage Against The Machine. The EP also features the Pixies Cover Where Is My Mind?.Strong’s self-titled EP produced by Chris Carter has received a number of awards and accolades since its release, with the lead-off single "Mexico" garnering particular buzz online. His song "Save You" won the Billboard World Songwriting Contest in 2008, the 2007 Great American Songwriting Contest (in the Alt/Rock genre), and the 2007 Diskmakers Music World Series.. }
