The accident occurred shortly after the Douglas DC-3 took off from Kastrup in Denmark. All 22 passengers and crew on board were killed in the accident.Among those killed in the crash were Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden and opera singer Grace Moore. Moore's body was flown to Paris on another KLM aircraft, and she was buried on 3 February 1947 with more than 500 people in attendance.The probable cause of the crash was determined to be failure to remove the elevator locking pins.
