It was used by Ford Motor Company, branded the Ford Power Stroke engine, from 1994 through 2003, replacing an earlier 7.3 L indirect-injection V8 from Navistar. It was replaced in 2003.5 (After December 31, 2002) by the 6.0 L VT365.The T444E used a 104.4 mm (4.1 in) bore and 106.2 mm (4.2 in) stroke. Power output was 215 hp (160 kW) at 3000 rpm and 425 lb·ft (576 N·m) at 1600 rpm for 1994-1997. Power was increased in 1999 to 235 hp (175 kW) at 2600 rpm and 500 lb·ft (678 N·m) of torque at 1600 rpm. in 2002 power was up to 250 hp (186 kW) at 2700 rpm and 525 lb·ft (712 N·m) of torque at 1600 rpm in automatics and 275 hp (205 kW) in manuals. International built nearly 2 million 7.3 L Power Stroke V8s for Ford at their Indianapolis, Indiana plant before switching to the 6.0. Federal emission laws are the main reason the 7.3L was discontinued.The 6.0 was also discontinued in 2007 when it was replaced by International's 6.4 liter. Not long after in 2010 the 6.4 liter was replaced by Ford's first in house Super Duty diesel truck engine, the 6.7 liter Power Stroke. This ended the partnership between International and Ford for light duty diesel engines in the Super Duty pickups.Applications: 1994.5-1997 Ford F-250/F-350 1999-2003 Ford Super Duty 2000-2003 Ford Excursion 1994.5-2003 Ford Econoline 1994-2003 Ford E-Series van/bus chassis International 3600/3700/3800 bus chassis. }
