Gopichand posthumously awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for"Panditha Parameshwara Sastry Veelunama", in 1963 first Telugu novel to win this award.His Novel "Asamardhuni Jeevana Yatra" is known as first psychoanalysis novel in telugu literature which got very popular,is part of syllabus for APPSC examinations in Telugu literature optional subject.His postal stamp was released by the Government of India on his 100th birthday..
