It is managed and co-owned by the Westfield Group. The center features 125 retail and service shops, four department stores, and a variety of casual dining venues. The Mall was owned and managed by the Mills Corporation, also owner of the nearby Sawgrass Mills mall, from 2003 until Simon Property Group acquired The Mills in 2007. Simon operated the mall for summer 2007, and in November 2007, Westfield officially acquired the mall and renamed "Westfield Broward." It is the seventh Westfield mall in Florida and the only one in South Florida. Westfield once owned the nearby Westland Mall, but divested it in 2012. Currently, a renovation is underway that will significantly alter the appearance of the food court, as well as the play areas and family lounge. In addition, more restaurants will be added and a 12-screen Regal Cinemas will be built adjacent to the mall, all set to be completed in December 2013.. }
