Its last assignment was with Strategic Air Command, assigned to Fifteenth Air Force, being stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana. It was inactivated on 2 July 1966.Activated in 1954 as an intermediate command echelon of Strategic Air Command, providing command and control, of B-47 Stratojet medium bomber wings in Florida.
