Furthermore a beams made of plain concrete without shear reinforcement is tested to investigate the effect of the shear reinforcement. The beams are designed according to the rules mentioned in Eurocode 2 and, especially for the beams made with steel fibre concrete, according to the rules from the sigma-eta design method mentioned in the recommendation from the RILEM TC 162-TDF technical committee. The beams are loaded to failure in a three point bending test. The test results show that the beams made with the steel fibre concrete can resist shear forces as well as the standard beam with the stirrups.
