Furthermore a beams made of plain concrete without shear reinforcement is tested to investigate the effect of the shear reinforcement. The beams are designed according to the rules mentioned in Eurocode 2 and, especially for the beams made with steel fibre concrete, according to the rules from the sigma-eta design method mentioned in the recommendation from the RILEM TC 162-TDF technical committee. The beams are loaded to failure in a three point bending test. The test results show that the beams made with the steel fibre concrete can resist shear forces as well as the standard beam with the stirrups. However, due attention should be paid to the mixing and casting procedures of the steel fibre concrete.. }
