Choyce helped advance the band's image further, addressing his drug addiction. After entering and completing a drug detoxification program, he returned to the band with renewed vigor and incorporated experiences of crime and hard drug-related experiences in the lyrics of songs for the band. He also found an interest in Alastair Crowley, Austin Osman Spare, and their ideas influenced the imagery and lyrical content as well.of the band, as he incorporated . .[2]While faithful to the sound of garage punk, CPC Gangbangs incorporated elements of space rock and thrash metal into their music.
