There are 2 sizes of sermons, small (16.5 x 10 cm) and large (23 x 17 cm). Each is marked as to the place and date the sermon was delivered; many have multiple dates. Dates in each item are the dates of delivery of the sermon, not necessarily the date the text was written. Most sermons were delivered in Griswold's home church in New Milford, Connecticut, but also includes locations such as: Windsor, Weathersfield, Lyme, East Hartford, Danbury, New Fairfield, New London, Millington, etc... When a location is listed that is not New Milford, Griswold occasionally lists the name of the home pastor of that congregation. 1 sermon dating to 1805 appears to not be in the hand of Griswold. 2 letters were also found with these sermons, both sent to Stanley's son, Henry W. Griswold, 1824 and 1829.".
