He is the co-chair of the Camden County Democratic Party. His brother, political boss George Norcross, heads the South Jersey Democratic Organization.Norcross and his running mate, Camden City Council President Angel Fuentes, were elected to the Assembly in 2009 after Democratic incumbents Nilsa Cruz-Perez and Joseph J. Roberts both retired. Roberts was re-nominated in the primary, but announced that he would not seek re-election in September 2009, allowing the party organization to select a replacement on the ballot. They selected Norcross; he and Fuentes then went on to win easily in the heavily Democratic 5th district.Norcross was born in 1958 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, the son of George E. Norcross, Jr. He and his three brothers were raised in Pennsauken Township. He graduated from Camden County College with a degree in criminal justice.
