He was the American Co- Chief Editor for the North American edition of the 1997 botany publication Botanica. Wasson also wrote an internet column entitled “All Plants Considered” from 1997 to 2000. Since 1998, he has been the curator and nursery manager of a teaching garden at Cabrillo College in Aptos.His professional interests include apple trees, bold foliage plants, culinary ethnobotany, horticultural reference books, native plants, permaculture, pruning, salvias, South African Restios, vegetables, and the effect of fog on plants.. }
