- Ampro abstract "Ampro Industries, Inc. is a manufacturer of personal care products. Its product lines include styling and treatment products, including gels, shampoos, conditioners, soaps and polishers. Ampro's 20 current brand names include Pro Styl, Clear Ice, Shine 'n Jam and Vivas.In 1947 the company's founder, Irvin Lansky owned a dry goods store which was located on historic Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. His daughter, Cheri Rudner, is Chairman of Ampro, and her husband Henry is the company's Chief Executive Officer.The company's products are sold through conventional channels (including health and beauty retailers such as Wal-Mart, Walgreen’s, Dollar General, Sally Beauty Supply, Kroger, CVS, Family Dollar and Rite Aid as well as thousands of individually owned beauty supply stores, both domestically and internationally.Over the years, the company has continuously expanded its product lines, including Olive Oil Gel, Shine 'n Jam conditioning gels, Silk Edges, and Palm Wave pomade. Ampro has a long history of giving back to the African-American community by founding and supporting community causes such as the National African American Photographic Archive,NAAPA. The NAAPA is a collaborative effort between Ampro and the University Libraries, University of Memphis.".
