He served in the 1st Regiment Stranger (RE) from 1955 until 1957. He was then commander. He then went from Indochina to Algeria. From 1957 to 1959 he was posted to 4th Regiment Stranger (RE) and returned to the 1st Regiment Alien from 1960 to 1961.He finally joined the 3rd Foreign Infantry Regiment (REI) with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.".
