- Cooler_Kids abstract "Cooler Kids were a house music group from Brooklyn, New York formed in 2002. Composed of producer Kaz Gamble (a.k.a. DJ Kazimir), vocalist Sisely Treasure, and former Luscious Jackson bassist Jill Cunniff. They were signed to Dreamworks Records. The idea for the group came during e-mail correspondence that began with a fan message from Treasure, who lived in California, to Gamble in New York. The duo began working on music with Cunniff, whose role was described as "muse/sage/groove godmother", and production team Pop-Rox.In 2003, the group joined Erasure on their North American tour and, in an attempt to raise their profile among gay listeners, took a float in New York City's gay pride parade. Also in 2003, two original songs were featured in the video game Monster Rancher 4. Their debut and only album Punk Debutante was released on July 1, 2003 to mixed reviews. Rolling Stone gave the album two stars out of five, remarking, "The boogie's is in their hearts, but with too many same-y beats, the Cooler Kids get stuck in a groove they can't get out of." A review in City Pages also expressed mixed feelings. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin was more positive, calling several of the album's tracks "examples of what perfect dance pop should sound like". The group's song "Around The World" landed on the Billboard Dance Chart and was featured in The Lizzie McGuire Movie in 2003; it was also featured in the pilot episode of the teen drama The O.C. and was included in the video game, NHL 12. The band also had their song, "E Is For Everybody", featured in the Disney Channel television movie, Kim Possible: A Sitch In Time and was also featured on the soundtrack of the show. The group seemed to dissolve around 2005, but Gamble and Treasure continue to perform as boygirL, their side project from Cooler Kids. In 2007, Treasure was a contestant on reality TV show Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, but was cut after the 3rd week.As of 2008, boygirL seems to have dissolved as well. The official website lists their performances, the latest taking place in summer 2005. The phone number listed on the site as contact to boygirL does not connect to any persons related to boygirL or its affiliated personnel. Treasure became the lead singer for American rock band Shiny Toy Guns from 2008 to early 2011. She has since started a solo career.".
