- Dilogus:_The_Winds_of_War abstract "Dilogus: The Winds of War was an upcoming third-person role-playing game by Serbian developer Digital Arrow that utilized the Unigine engine. Originally started as a mod project for Crysis in 2008, the game was most recently planned for release on Windows and Linux as a full-fledged independent game. It was initially going to be based on the Unreal Development Kit, but was switched to Unigine, which provided full Linux support, a feature desired by the developers. It was a third-person high fantasy RPG action game that immersed players deep into the awe inspiring fantasy world of Dilogus, allowing them to experience it from multiple perspectives of six unique characters in both single-player and co-operative multiplayer mode on Linux and Windows platforms.Dilogus - Winds of War was based on a fictional fantasy universe, which was polished for over seven years. Being a fantasy RPG, the game immersed the players into a fantasy world, allowing them to play their characters any way possible. The open world feature of the game fueled this option and made sure the players had enough choices. While the game's actual advancement system was planned to be a bit simpler than the usual RPG style, the main focus was placed into the actual interaction with the world and the combat system, making sure that both the single player and multiplayer experiences ware equally enjoyable. Providing the players with six unique characters to start from ensured there was enough room for every type - as each character had its strengths and weaknesses. The game featured a system that allowed the player to make use of their character, fists, boots and elbows included, supplementing the weapon based combat system. There was a big contrast in game environment: big open places, when the players were on the top of these cliffs, and closed caves, underground cities, when players entered caves within these cliffs. Dilogus featured a beautiful environment at some places, while dark and horror-like at others."Unigine was a great technology for our game because it provided amazing image quality and easily handled large worlds as well as extremely detailed indoors. The project was originally started as a full conversion mod and we have tried out several top-level engines before Unigine. This having been said, Unigine has proven to be the best technology for our game", commented Taylor Hughes, Technical Artist of Digital Arrow.[citation needed] "Dilogus was a very ambitious project, but I saw a rare combination of delusion and denial of the team, so I was pretty confident in their failure", commented Denis Shergin, CEO of Unigine Corp.[citation needed] The game world resembled Unigine Heaven benchmark a lot, it was like a "Heaven RPG".[citation needed] Developers said that Unigine Heaven was actually one of the inspirations for them.".
