- Fletcher_Hale abstract "Fletcher Hale (January 22, 1883 – October 22, 1931) was a United States Representative from New Hampshire. He was born in Portland, Maine and attended the public schools there. He graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1905. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1908 and commenced practice in Littleton. Later, he moved to Laconia in 1912 and continued the practice of his profession, serving as city solicitor of Laconia in 1915 and as solicitor for Belknap County 1915-1920.Hale served as member of the board of education 1916-1925 and as chairman 1918-1925. He was a delegate to the New Hampshire constitutional convention in 1918 and a member of the New Hampshire Tax Commission 1920-1925. He was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth and to the three succeeding Congresses and served from March 4, 1925, until his death in Brooklyn Naval Hospital in New York 1931. He was buried in Union Cemetery, Laconia, New Hampshire.".
