- Gogh_Van_Go abstract "Gogh Van Go is a Montreal alt pop duo made up of Sandra Luciantonio and Daniel Tierney who released two albums on Audiogram Records in the mid 1990’s. The first record released in 1993 and produced by Pierre Marchand (Daniel Lanois, Sarah McLauglin) was a great success and featured a songs on the singles charts including Bed Where We Hide, Say You Will (re-mixed by James Disalvio of Bran Van 3000 fame) and Tunnel of Trees, which won the Juno for best video in 1995. The second album Bliss Station was released in 1997. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album the mythical Montreal duo returned to the scene in December of 2013 with what was to be a one-off reunion show at the Cabaret du Mile End in Montreal. Sandra and Daniel were joined by their original line up of talented collaborators including Yves Desrosiers on guitar, Jean Massicotte on keyboards and samples, John Souranis on bass and John McColgan on drums. To commemorate this special occasion, Audiogram released a compilation on I-tunes The Best of Gogh Van Go, which included the Say You Will re-mix produced by James Disalvio and a forgotten track from the first Gogh Van Go record produced by Pierre Marchand. Among other accolades, Brendan Kelly of the Montreal Gazette proclaimed the Gogh Van Go concert as his live music event of the year (see link below). This spring (2014), Gogh Van Go and their four musician collaborators returned to studio to record two new songs Sugar and Mama Needs a New Dress, written by Sandra with the help of guitarist-collaborator Yves Desrosiers and produced by keyboardist Jean Massicotte. June 26th 2014 signals the return once again of Gogh Van Go to the live stage as Montreal’s once and future coolest duo is part of the 2014 Montreal Jazz Festival accompanied by their top notch original live band. Gogh Van Go is back to remind us of some of the great moments of the ’90s, hot on the heels of their moving and utterly convincing performance this past December. Along with their hits, we can expect some surprises, including new songs!A few recent mentions in the media regarding the December Gogh Van Go reunion concert.• Returning to Plan A: Gogh Van Go is staging a one-night reunion to mark the 20th anniversary of its debut – Brendan Kelly Montréal Gazette 2 décembre 2013. http://www2.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/arts/ story.html?id=53a38bb2-b75d-4afa-9c9f-447a41070147 • Brendan Kelly - critique du spectacle du 5 décembre 2013, Gogh Van Go http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/2013/12/06/gogh-van-go-return-with-all-the-magic-intact/ • Gogh Van Go, Best event of 2013 – Montreal Gazette http://www.montrealgazette.com/entertainment/Video +Brendan+Kelly+favourite+event+2013/9307532/story. html Link to the 2014 Jazz Fest Gogh Van Go concert information http://www.montrealjazzfest.com/program/concert.aspx?id=11502".
