It is primarily used for baseball and was home to the Missoula Osprey prior to Ogren Park at Allegiance Field's opening for the 2004 season. It holds 2,200 people. It is currently the home of the Missoula Mavericks American Legion baseball teams. It is named for Russell W. Lindborg and William 'Bill' Cregg, two Missoula men who were active in promoting Missoula American Legion Baseball in the years following World War II. Russell Lindborg also served as Commander of the Missoula American Legion Post and as president of the Missoula Chamber of Commerce. He owned the Lindborg Tire Company.During World War II, Russell W. Lindborg Sr. served as a non-combat pilot in the U.S. Army. After the war he returned to Missoula and joined the American Legion; he was the 1952-53 Commander of Hellgate Post 27 and the 1956-57 Montana State Commander. Lindborg reached the executive level of the organization as chair of the national defense committee from 1961-63.Throughout most of the 1950s, Lindborg served as manager of the Missoula American Legion baseball team. As an owner of a tire business in Missoula for 33 years, Lindborg had many friends and received many local honors. He was president of the Missoula Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Missoula County Airport Board.".
