When the ABA came along in 1967 with a franchise, the Bucs played at the Field House until they relocated to Memphis, Tennessee in 1970. The New Orleans Jazz played some of their home games at the Field House for their inaugural 1974–75 season. When Loyola dropped varsity sports in the mid-1970s, the building became the Recreation Center, with most of the seating torn out.
