- Nest_Family_Entertainment abstract "Nest Family Entertainment was formed in 1987. The company is best known for producing and distributing educational animated Christian and historical videos for children such as Animated Stories from the Bible, Animated Stories from the New Testament and Animated Hero Classics, the third latter produced in association with Warner Bros. Nest owned Richard Rich's animation studio, Rich Animation Studios, until 2000, when it was acquired by India's Crest Animation Studios and renamed to RichCrest Animation Studios.Nest Entertainment's most famous animated film is The Swan Princess (1994), based on the classic ballet Swan Lake and produced for New Line Cinema. The film was rather successful on its first opening weekend. It also spawned two sequels, The Swan Princess II: Escape from Castle Mountain (1997) and The Swan Princess: The Mystery of the Enchanted Kingdom (1998), neither of which did a good performance. In 1999, Nest Entertainment teamed up with Morgan Creek Productions and Rankin/Bass to produce an animated adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I for Warner Bros. However, the film bombed at the box office and received very negative reviews, which forced Nest Entertainment to sell off Rich's animation studio to Crest Animation Studios in 2000. The last feature film produced by Rich for Nest Entertainment is The Trumpet of the Swan (2001), based on E.B. White's 1970 novel of the same name and released by TriStar Pictures, although it also does a poor performance. However, RichCrest continued to produce Bible videos for Nest Entertainment. Nest Entertainment currently releases animated religious DVDs.".
