- Private_Banks_Sports_Ground abstract "Private Banks Sports Ground is a 20 acre cricket and multi-use sports ground in Catford Bridge, London (formerly Kent). The first recorded match on the ground was in 1875, when Kent played Sussex in the grounds first first-class match. During 1875, the ground held 4 first-class fixtures for Kent. Kent would next use the ground for first-class cricket in 1892 when they played Somerset. From 1892 to 1914, the ground held 32 first-class matches. Following the First World War, Kent returned to the ground in 1920 when they played Warwickshire. The following season they played the final first-class match held at the ground against Nottinghamshire. The ground has also held a single Second XI Championship match for the Kent Second XI in 1959, when they played the Worcestershire.Cricket is still played on the ground, as well as it being a venue for local five-a-side football football teams. In 2012 the ground was sold to nearby private secondary school St Dunstan's College (through its Educational Foundation). As well as school use the site will "also continue to provide playing fields, five-a-side football pitches, a gym, dance studio and function rooms for hire by local people and teams".Powerleague staff will stay on at the site, and were quoted as saying "There is no plan to change the way the football grounds are run".St Dunstan’s renamed the site as the Jubilee Ground and intends to invest to improve it for school and other use.".
