Karr began his career in journalism as a teenager, when he worked as a reporter and music critic for The Times of Northwest Indiana.He has been teaching as an adjunct faculty member at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism since 2004.Karr is a recording engineer, record producer, songwriter and founding member of the musical collective Box Set Authentic.He was born and raised in Highland, Indiana and attended Purdue University and the London School of Economics.".
