- Riverside_State_Park abstract "Riverside State Park is a park 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Spokane in Nine Mile Falls, Washington. At 10,000 acres (4,000 ha), it is the second-largest state park in Washington. The park includes two campgrounds; one at the Bowl & Pitcher and the other at the Nine Mile Recreation area. Park activities include camping, fishing, swimming, picnicking, boating, canoeing, kayaking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, atv riding, horseback riding, biking, hiking and rock climbing. The different areas of the park are the Bowl & Pitcher, a 600-acre (240 ha) off-road vehicle park, an equestrian area set aside for people with horses, Nine Mile Recreation area, a 1,500-acre (610 ha) Little Spokane River natural area, the Spokane House Interpretive Center and the 37-mile (60 km) long Spokane River Centennial Trail. Several structures in the park were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s: A suspension bridge, kitchen shelter, and restroom at the Bowl & Pitcher Park residence, office, and maintenance shop at Bowl & Pitcher Rock walls and much of the roadway of Aubrey White Parkway A rock restroom on the Centennial Trail near the Carlson Trailhead Various other trails in the park↑".
