In each of the actions Buttle demonstrated bravery.Robert Buttle died on the morning of October 10, 1901 at his home, 274 Court Street. His death came after an illness of two months.Arrangements were made for funeral services on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The interment was in Green-Wood Cemetery. Mexican-American War veterans were invited to attend. The deceased left behind a wife and three sons. The sons' names were L.N., Robert O., and Frank.".
