- Rose_Goldsen_Archive_of_New_Media_Art abstract "The Rose Goldsen Archive of New Media Art, founded in 2002 by Prof. Timothy Murray and named after Prof. Rose Goldsen, is a research archive located in Kroch Rare and Manuscript Collections at Cornell University. The Rose Goldsen Archive's primary aim is to provide enduring access to new media art (sound, video, and interactive digital art) as well as context for analyzing them for a broad range of researchers.Any registered user of the Kroch Rare and Manuscript Collections can check out virtually any Goldsen materials and study them at length in an on-site reading room. Their curatorial program focuses largely on scholarly works, collections, artworks, artists, and genres that might otherwise not be found in the larger world of art museums. The collection contains work ranging from the 1960s up to the present day, and includes the work of artists like Nam June Paik, Gary Hill, Bill Viola, Sadie Benning, Stephen Vitiello, Mary Flanagan, and Xu Bing. The Goldsen archive is currently in the middle of a National Endowment for the Humanities-funded preservation initiative that aims to simplify access to artworks made for obsolete operating systems, so that they can be used and viewed on modern computers. The Goldsen Archive is also the off-line repository of the Turbulence.org archives, which include working files and artist information as well as complete works of net.art.".
